Foundation - Frequently Asked Questions

These FAQs are designed to support potential and existing students and their parents to answer some of the most common questions.

Who is eligible to apply for Foundation Programme?

Students who seek admissions in international business schools or bachelor degree Programmes related to Management, Marketing, Human Resource, Finance, Hospitality, and Tourism fields. Additionally, the Technical Foundation Programme prepares you for a degree-level study at many international universities and colleges in the field of computer science, engineering, technology, and more.

The entry requirements depend on which course you are applying for and on which curriculum did you study. Please look at the programme list and click through for the entry requirements. How can I find out more about what to expect after successful completion of the Foundation Programme?

1. You can always book your free academic counseling session* with the Admissions Department. We will advise you on pathways options the student can opt for.
Dates: Sunday to Thursday
Timing: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Duration: 1 hour
Pre-booking is required*

2. Open days over the weekend provide an excellent opportunity to visit our campus and know more about the career options for your student. Save the dates as following:
Wednesday: 18 September – Timing: between 5:00 to 8:00 PM
Friday: 27 September – Timing: between 4:00 to 8:00 PM

How do I apply to start the initial application?

You can contact the Student Recruitment Team through this number (0526461877) or email them at admissions@modul.ac.ae.

Required Documents:
Application Form, completed and signed by the applicant (or apply online here)
Copy of your Passport
Copy of your last grades transcript from your high school.

I don’t have a Secondary School Leaving Certificate or Grade 11 transcript. Can I start my application?

You can already go ahead and apply! If accepted, we will offer you a "Provisional Acceptance", which means that a place in the programme is reserved for you. This place will become confirmed once you submit your certificate to us. You must provide your most recent transcript with your application.

What is the current Scholarship/Discount/Study Grant to enroll for Foundation Programme?

Exclusively for September 2019 intake, study grant up to of AED 10,000 for the entire programme*. Please submit your application to check your eligibility.

When do I need to pay for my tuition ?

The tuition fees are divided into two semesters. The first semester fees has to be paid no later than 06 October 2019. Instalment plan is optional.

What modules will the student study in the foundation year?

To successfully complete the foundation year, do I need to attend exams? Is there a specific grade or score I need to achieve?

Yes, it is required. During the 1st semester you will take assignments, quizzes, midterm examination and final examination. You have to pass all the courses. To achieve a minimum score of 145 in GED external exams for each course is A MUST in order to proceed to 2nd Semester.
The minimum passing score is 60 out of 100 in every course.

How many hours will the student study per week?

Approx 15 h/w. The student will work on assignments, group projects, midterm examination, and final examination.

What is your average class size?

Our average class size is between 20 to 30 students depends on the course nature.

Is there any English proficiency test (TOEFL/IELTS) required to graduate from the Foundation program?

The English proficiency test score is not required to graduate from MUD Foundation program. However, the student might be asked to submit such test score prior to his/her admission to a Foundation Programme.

What does MODUL stand for?

Founded in 1908, MODUL brand stands for more than 100 years of excellence in education and is owned by the Vienna Chamber of Commerce & Industry. The name MODUL comes from the honeycomb-like structure of the Tourism College MODUL, where both the school and adjacent hotel of the same name are built in octagonal-shaped conjoined 'modules'. The school and hotel are also in Vienna’s 19th district, and were designed and built from 1973-1975. The university was conceptualized by the leaders of the Tourism College MODUL, and was named MODUL University.

Where is MODUL University Dubai Located?

The state-of-the-art Dubai campus is spread across 25,000 sq ft and located in ONE JLT, Dubai’s most prestigious business address located at the heart of Jumeirah Lakes Towers within the UAE’s fastest growing free-zone, the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC). Does MODUL University Dubai provide student visa services?

Yes. International and non-resident students, who are looking to study at MODUL University Dubai, will need a student visa to reside and study in the United Arab Emirates. The University sponsors students once they have accepted their offer letters to join a program at MODUL University Dubai and have paid all tuition fees due as per their study contacts.

Does MODUL University Dubai provide accommodation services?

Yes. MODUL University Dubai has entered into a partnership agreement with one of the leading student accommodation providers in Dubai which offers affordable, safe and appropriate lodgings with a shuttle bus service to the Campus, shopping malls and beaches.
