On May 6, 2019, MODUL University Dubai, Research Synergy Foundation and The Centre for Sustainability through Research and Education (CSRE) have successfully conducted “The 3rd International Conference on Interdisciplinary Business, Economy, Management, and Social Studies (IBEMS)” at MODUL University Dubai campus in the UAE.

The main aim of this conference was the collaboration of scholars, researchers, academics, and students on sharing their ideas and research findings in the disciplines of Business, Economy, Management and Social Sciences. Scholars representing UAE, Indonesia, Germany, Finland, Serbia, UK, India, Iran, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Russia and Kazakhstan have actively participated in the conference and contributed their knowledge in several panels - Management, Organizational Behaviour, Phycology, Operation Management, Area Studies, Sustainable Development, Business Ethics and Institutional Management.

The Conference Chair Prof. Dr. Daniel Marco-Stefan Kleber has opened the conference with a welcoming note followed by a talk on Creativity and Innovation Management.

The aim of the IBEMS Conference is to provide an opportunity to academics and professionals from various scientific fields such as Business, Management, Sustainable Development, Economics and Social Sciences from all over the world to come together and learn from each other.
The International Conference IBEMS 2019 shows up as a cutting-edge social research platform to gather presentations and discussions of recent achievements by leading researchers of the academic world. It has been our privilege to convene this conference. Our sincere thanks, to the conference organizing committee; to the Program Chairs for their wise advice and brilliant suggestion on organizing the technical program and to the Program Committee for their thorough and timely reviewing of the papers. Recognition should go to the Local Organizing Committee members who have all worked extremely hard in order to ensure the realization of the conference.
We welcome you to Dubai and hope that this year’s conference will challenge and inspire you, and result in new knowledge, collaborations and friendships. We are convinced that: Together, we can expand horizons.

The Research Synergy Foundation founder and chairman Dr. Hendrati Dwi Mulyaningsih has highlighted the role of RSF contribution to the scientific community and encouraged the participants to take the best out of the conference.

Continuing the morning presentation session, the scholars have presented their findings on different topics.

Rebecca Keogh has shared findings on “Media Representations Of Land Clearing In Northern Queensland: An Ecolinguistic Discourse Analysis.”

Prof. Jeremy Williams presented “Achieving SDG 5: A Comparative Analysis Of Gender Equality Policies In Rwanda And The United Arab Emirates”.

Ahmed Abusamra showcased “Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency: What Can UAE Learn From Germany?”.

Ahmad Hakimzadeh presented “Analysis Of Milestones And Achievements To Increase Sustainability At Expo 2020”.

Iryna Havryliuk analysed “Socio-adaptive Dimension Of Students’ Personal Space”.

Dyah Nirmala Arum Janie presented “Village Government Officials’ Understanding of the Village Financial System Indicators: A Confirmatory Factor Analysis”.

Ali Nader Hakimzadeh shared insights on “The Importance Of Hip Hop Events And Their Impact On Event Management In Dubai”.

The Academic President of MODUL University Dubai Prof. Dr. Joerg Finsinger encouraged all the participants to keep up with research ambitions and do participate in conferences like IBEMS to share knowledge and ideas in the scientific community.

The afternoon session continued with presentation of Kilm Popov, who presented “Factors, Affecting Students’ Decision To Enroll In A University”.

Sarthak Sharma shared his research about “The Effects of Hosting Events on Destination Branding: Dubai Expo 2020”.

Alina Beisembayeva has enthusiatically presented research about “Children – Centered Business Models In Tourism”.

Cecep Safa’atul Barkah presented “the Design of tourism product based on literacy in Pangandaran Regency, West Java Province, Indonesia”.

Healthy Nirmalasari explained about “A Proposed Model of Increasing Entrepreneurial Capacity for Cinta Ratu Village SMEs Business Group through Activation of Penta Helix Collaboration”.

Jamoliddinov Fakhriyor and Dr. Jacinta Dsilva presented their research about “Investigating The Central Place Theory: A Case Study On Uzbekistan”.

Aswathy Rajan spoke about “Economic And Technological Development: A Dynamic Change In Finland”.

Dr. Dyah Nirmala Arum Janie had presented three papers in a row for Business Ethics tracks: (1) Do Personality, Professionalism, And Spirituality Have Impact On Dysfunctional Behavior? (a Case Of Indonesian Accountants), (2) The Difference Effects Between Slow and Fast-Pace In Accompanying Music on The Work Performance, and (3) The Implementation of Indonesian Accounting Standards for Micro, Small and Medium Entities.

The award ceremony has recognised four “Best presenters”:
