Job Description

Primary Responsibilities
  • Prepare syllabus to meet the course learning outcomes, goals and objectives. Deliver the course with an ultimate aim of making students’ knowledgeable.
  • Prepare assessments to help students to learn course content and how it integrates with overall student learning outcomes.
  • Promote and encourage students' active participation and students’ own learning.
  • Create an efficient and effective academic learning environment that encourages students’ involvements and participations.
  • Employ a variety of formative and summative assessments to ensure that classroom instructions lead to students’ learning and the accomplishment of the students’ learning outcomes for the course.
  • Help students’ reach their academic, personal and career goals.
Qualifications & Experience
  • PhD in related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in U.A.E. Combination of teaching and industry experience will also be considered particularly in Hotel Management Courses.
  • A strong academic background and research publications in the particular disciplines.
  • Ability to independently develop course related materials and work as a part of academic team.
  • Excellent Oral and Written communication skills and ability to communicate with diverse groups.

Librarian

Job Description

The MODUL University Dubai invited qualified applicants to apply for the position of Librarian. The Librarian supports teaching and learning objectives through the effective delivery of Library and Learning Centre services to students and faculty. The candidate ensures that all library users are properly orientated with library services, resources and technologies. To this end, the Librarian plans and delivers information skills instruction, provides reference services, and produces instructional materials. The Librarian works closely with faculty to develop library collections which are aligned with curricular and research needs.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Guides students, faculty and staff in the use of library services and resources, and associated library technologies
  • Prepares budget proposals as required
  • Collaborates with faculty to develop and deliver instruction programs that develop information literary skills
  • Contributes to the development of the library collection by monitoring curricular and research needs, and through the regular review of publishing catalogues
  • Performs the receipt, and managing the processing of new library materials
  • Devises strategies to promote reading and to encourage information technologies usage across all program areas
Expected Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive library experience, preferably within the UAE educational framework
  • Strong ability to collaborate and influence
  • A high degree of computer literacy and demonstrated ability to generate, analyze and interpret complex documents from various sources
  • Current knowledge of higher education practices, trends and issues
  • Superior interpersonal skills as demonstrated by the ability to form professional relationships at all levels within the organization and with appropriate external stakeholders
  • Highly developed organizational, communication and presentation skills
  • Strong management or leadership skills as exhibited by experience in effectively leading a team and/or chairing committees
  • Experience in budget planning and implementation would be advantageous
  • Overseas work experience within a multi-cultural environment would be advantageous
